I’m going to be honest. I originally was going to write this February 1st. As we all know, life gets crazy and the blog post got pushed to the side. But let me tell you, February 1st was NOT my day. I was soooooooooo angry all day long, and I still have no idea why. We had a thespian meeting that morning, and I’m pretty sure all the thespians thought my evil, angry twin had come to the meeting. And if we’re going to be REALLY honest, January was not my month. It was a hard month. It was a month full of tears and questioning why and struggling to face the world every single day.
But. It was a month of learning. It was a month full of laughter and understanding why and relying on my God every single day. There was such a strange balance of finding the joy amidst intense pain that was so unfamiliar to me. As I sat in my bed the night of January 31st, reflecting over the complex, strange, difficult month that was now over, I compiled a list of the things I learned in January. Some are really deep, and some are so simple they make me laugh. I’m sharing them with you in hopes that you might learn something too, or at least be reminded of the things you already know.
The Things I Learned in January 2018:
In case you haven’t noticed, I love fruit bowls (and if you buy me one I will love you forever). I want you to learn these things if you haven’t already. Because while they don’t make life perfect, they sure do make it easier. As 2018 continues, I’ll continue to write down the things I learn. I don’t know yet if I’ll be led to post them, but feel free to ask me about them any time. I’d love to share with you. In fact, I’d love for you to think about the things you’ve learned and share them with someone. If we don’t share what we learn, how can we help others grow? So go. Right now. Live. Learn. Share. Eat a fruit bowl, and never forget the things you’ve learned.
